This tour package lets you explore the beauty of Morocco in just 4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga. Tour Itinerary: 4 Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga
Day 1 Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Zagora Dunes
The tour will start at 07h30 AM with a pick up from your hotel / Riad. We will depart for Ouarzazate passing through the Atlas Mountains over the Tichka Pass where there are beautiful views to see. After having lunch and exploring Ouarzazate we will Continue driving to Zagora crossing the Draa river which has given life to a huge oasis spreading for about 200 Km at the foothill of the anti-Atlas Mountains. You will see several palmeraies on the way dotted with fields of corn, barley, Vegetables and henna plantations. Dinner and Overnight stay will be in hotel.
Day 2 Zagora -Tamegroute – Mhamid– Erg Chigaga
On the second day, after breakfast we will drive to M’hamid passing by the village of Tamagroute where you will have the opportunity to visit the oldest Quranic libraries in Morocco, the underground Kasbah and the pottery factory. After having lunch in M’hamid, we will cross different features of desert such as ‘Erg’, ‘Reg’, ‘Hammada’ and oases to reach Erg Chigaga dunes where you will Ride camels to go to the camp. You will have dinner, enjoy the local music with the local nomads and spend the second night in Sahara Desert camp.
Day 3 Chigaga Dunes – Iriki Lake – Foumzguid – Tazenakht - Ait Benhaddou
In the morning, after having breakfast we will return back passing by the natural dried lake of Iriki that was full of water 30 years ago and crossing the small town of Foum-Zguid which is a quiet Berber town to reach Tazenakht. It is the one of the biggest centers of carpets in the kingdom and it was a former trading post for this large region. Afterwards, we will continue driving to the Universal heritage of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah which is a fortified village of the 11th century and it is where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 4 Ait Benhaddou – Telouet- Tichka Pass – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will drive to the Kasbah of Telouet that was the seat of the El Glaoui family's power who was given political power of Morocco south of High Atlas Mountains by the King Moulay Hassan. The palace can still be visited by tourists but it is steadily becoming more damaged. Finally, we will have lunch in the Pass of Tichka to return back later to Marrakech.

The fixed price of the shared group tour is 384€ per person. However it might seem a bit higher than other so-called "providers", but do not be fooled; the maximum number of participants in our groups is 6 people and the tour can begin with only 4 people, as we believe that the less number of participants in the group makes the tour quite similar to a private one, in addition to providing you with high-quality services throughout the tour.

1. What's the difference that distinguishes between shared and private tours?
The main difference between private and shared tours is that you will share the vehicles of transportation with other people during the shared tours, while rooms and tents are private in both types. You can even choose to stay separated from the group during the mealtime. The private tours are distinguished by guaranteed departure, as we are committed to offering the tour once confirming your booking. By contrast, shared tours require a minimum of 4 participants to start. If the minimum number is not met, we give you the choice to have a free cancellation or make a deal to continue as a private tour.
2. Can I have vegetarian/vegan food during the tour?
Yes, the vegetarian or vegan food is an available choice on your tour, just let us know when booking and you can remind your driver during the tour.
3. Can I get the desert camp without camel trekking?
Of course, as there is a dedicated 4x4 car that we use to transport the luggage and clients who don't have any interest in riding camels. and if you Choosing a private tour, we will arrange you to travel in a comfortable 4x4 car throughout the tour, even to reach the desert camp, all you need is to let us know during the booking process.
4. Are there private bathrooms in the camp?
Yes, our basic package includes camps that are considered as luxury ones with fully-equipped tents having ensuite showers and bathrooms at no extra cost.
5. Is it possible to take my luggage during the tour?
Certainly, our comfortable vehicles have enough space for large suitcases to enable you to bring it with you, even in the desert. The luggage will be transported to tents of the desert camp by using a 4x4 car.
Payment methods
How can I pay my tour?
To confirm your booking for a tour or an activity, you shall put down a small deposit into our account on PayPal, while the balance is due will be paid in cash to your driver on the day of your tour, either in euros or equivalent in dirhams.
Is it possible to pay by Credit Cards?
Unfortunately, credit cards are not accepted because they are not very practical in Morocco, in addition to having higher fees and carrying security risks.
Can I pay the full amount via PayPal?
Due to the operational delays and transaction fees of PayPal, we generally ask for the balance payments in cash. However, in some cases, the full payment via PayPal is accepted, taking into consideration that a 5% fee will be imposed to cover the extra transaction charges. If you decide to pay the full amount via PayPal, it will be better to make the payment before the tour.
